Donna has always had a love for hosting, cooking and baking. As a young girl, she loved to cook with her grandmother and has always hosted parties for friends. After opening and running her first café in Acton Town, London with husband, Simon, the couple made a dramatic move to Devon to open Riverside Bideford, a successful 4-bedroom guesthouse with a self-catering apartment; all because Donna wanted a dog! 2 dogs later and one beautifully located guesthouse beside the river Torridge the time was right to take on another venture.
On her success Donna says: “definitely due to a firm focus on local produce, the pigs from our own smallholding and honest tasty home cooked food
Donna & Simon began serving Mad Henry’s Tea at Riverside, soon followed by evening meals in the restaurant. Demand was buoyant and customers wanted to bring bigger groups of people which we couldn’t accommodate in the restaurant. So, following requests, Donna started to cater 3-course dinners for events and holiday parties at other locations in and around North Devon and Torridge. With a background working in project management government organisations in London and Europe, Donna operates an efficient yet creative catering business that provides fair pricing with integrity and a noticeable attention-to-detail.
A reliable, friendly team of service staff and husband Simon front of house overseeing the customers’ needs Chef Duet catering has grown steadily.
